The Young Experiment-Theory Institute aims to gather UK HEP "young researchers" (i.e. 2nd/3rd year PhD students and postdocs) from the experimental and theoretical communities to discuss current topics in high energy particle physics. It aims to promote interaction between the two halves of the PP community at the early career stage and encourage interest in phenomenology. The talks and discussion are expected to be at the level of young researchers. The talks are by invited speakers, with plenty of time scheduled for discussion.
The emphasis of YETI'05 is on making the link between analysing from current collider experiments and the challenge of new physics at the LHC, whose start-up is rapidly approaching. The meeting will emphasise a more informed approach towards Monte Carlo event generators and includes hands-on sessions involving the MADGRAPH and Herwig generators.
The meeting is sponsored by the IPPP and is by invitation only. Please contact the organisers for an invitation. Meals, accomodation and travel within the UK will be provided free of charge.
Organizing committee: Alan Barr, Andy Buckley, Keith Hamilton, Amber Jenkins, Emily Nurse & Nigel Glover.
