Local Information
Arrival and Accommodation
Participants will be housed either in Collingwood College or in equivalent accommodation in the neighbouring Colleges of St Mary's or St Aidan's. You should have been informed by e-mail where you are staying. You can also find it here.Please make your way to Reception at your College at the University of Durham. Check-in is after 14:00 on day of arrival. The Colleges can be reached from the Railway Station by a short taxi ride or a 25 minute (approx) walk. If you are arriving at Newcastle airport on Tuesday 29th July please note that there is transport arranged to meet flights at 11:15, 15:30, 18:00 and 20:30. If you are unable to meet the coaches arranged the most convenient way to Durham is by taxi (around 25 pounds), it is also possible to take the train via the Metro link from the airport into Newcastle city centre and then connect with the train to Durham.
Local registration
Registration will take place in the IPPP building (behind Physics - see map) on Tuesday or Wednesday. Tuesday 29th: If you arrive before 7.30pm you may go to the registration desk in the IPPP building. From there it is a 5 minute walk to the college. If you arrive later please go directly to your college where they will be expecting you. Wednesday 29th - Please register before Lunch on Wednesday.Computing facilities
Terminals will be made available in the IPPP offices. In addition we have wireless facilities in the IPPP building. The Wep encryption key plus instructions will be made available at the registration desk.
