To get from Newcastle airport to Durham by public transport use the Metro which takes you to Newcastle Central Station for about 2.40 GBP (trains operate every 20 minutes) and then connect with the mainline train to Durham.

The ferries arrive at the International Ferry Terminal, Royal Quays, North Shields which is situated approximately 8 miles east of Newcastle City Centre. There is a bus service to Newcastle Central Station costing about 4.0 GBP.
