Meeting

8 - 10 June 2009
Cosener's House, Abingdon, UK

  • Accommodation & meals:

Meals will be provided on site for the duration of the workshop, including lunch on the final day, for all participants staying on and off-site. Dinner on Sunday 07 is not included in the conference fee.

All accommodation on site has now been allocated.  It will be necessary to arrange your own accommodation. You are advised to do this as soon as possible  as Oxfordshire attracts many tourists during the summer months. The conference organisers will contact you immediately after registration to confirm if there is no availability in Cosener's house and to give some suggestions.

Special rates (90 GBP for double room with single occupancy, including breakfast) have been arranged with the nearby hotel Upper Reaches hotel. However, no block booking could be made. Please contact the hotel directly and state clearly that you will be attending the NuFlavour conference. Please, let also know the conference organisers once your accommodation has been sorted out with the hotel.

The Crown and Thistle may also have rooms available:

There are many hotels in neighbouring Oxford (5 miles) but these will fill up quickly for late spring and early summer. The workshop takes place during term and so accommodation in the colleges will be restricted.

If there are any questions or you require advice, please contact the organisers.

  • Meeting venue: The Cosener's House occupies a picturesque Thames side position in the grounds of the mediaeval Abbey of Abingdon in Oxfordshire. The main conference room is situated in a modern purpose-built facility adjacent to the main house. This can accommodate up to sixty people and is fitted with a full range of audio-visual aids, photo-copying facilities and computer links.

  • Registration and fee: Early registration is appreciated.

To cover local expenses such refreshments, lunches, dinner and organisational costs, there will be a small fee of £150 .  Details on its payment will be made available closer to the workshop.
